Pastor Rick Skelton

I grew up in East Detroit Michigan and graduated from East Detroit High School in 1971. I was a small guy and got picked on a lot, so to have friends I got involved in drugs, drinking, and street gangs. In 1973 I moved with my family to California wanting to have a new start on life. Well, I started drinking and hanging out with the wrong crowd and doing drugs again. I met a girl who lived across the street from our family name Stephanie and I married her in 1977. The first couple of years were pretty rough. We then had our first daughter Crystal in 1979, but the drinking and the drugs didn’t stop. I had guys from motorcycle gangs looking for me because of what I had gotten myself into, and my wife hated me. I ended up the last six months before I gave my life to Christ with a bad Cocaine habit. In the middle of the night I had guys trying to bust down my garage door to get at my 55 panhead Harley Davidson and my guns. I was dealing drugs with people that I shouldn’t have been around. I was all messed up and my wife was threatening to leave me even though I told her that if she ever did I’d kill her. One night I came home from the bar, sat in my party chair, put my gun on the table, had a Seagram’s and seven up, and started channel surfing the TV. I went to channel 40 and watching them, I thought they must have better drugs then me because they were so happy. I listened to a guy named Dwight Thompson, it seemed like he was speaking right to me. He asked if we would like to receive Christ. My wife and I prayed with him. It was April 4th 1981, on a Saturday night at 10:35 in the night, I will never forget it! After getting rid of all my drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes, the following Sunday, I went to a church in West Covina, Calvary Chapel West Covina. A month later I got involved in the Usher Ministry because I wanted to help and be a part of what God was doing. Later I was asked into Leadership, and was in Leadership in almost every ministry possible until I bought a House in the High Dessert and moved. But before we bought the house, we found another church first, then we moved! We fellowshipped and got involved with Calvary Chapel High Dessert. My family was there for 14 years, the last 7 years on staff full time. I oversaw the Men’s Study for 14 years. God then moved on my heart to start a Bible study in Adelanto California! One thing I have learned, our God is an awesome God! After confirmation in the word, and through prayer and fasting, the Lord sent my family and I out to Pastor full time the fellowship in Adelanto California! We were really excited about what God had done and is continuing to do in that Church! In August of 2020, through various circumstances, the Lord led me to pass the church on to a younger guy and to retire.

We moved to Arizona to be near family and friends, but I still had a strong desire to teach God’s Word, so we started an online ministry of teaching the Word for those who want a deeper knowledge of His Word. We’re again excited to see what our Lord will do in these last moments of the church’s dispensation, we’re living in the final moments before we are removed from this earth and all hell breaks loose for 7 terrible years known as the Great Tribulation Period. Let’s see what our God wants to do before Christ returns! Praise His Holy Name!
